[/font]When the world didn't want them. . . .
The gods withdrew from the world thousands of years ago, relocating to a secluded island. This island the called Forsaken. It wasn't until the first encounter with an inhabitant of the island that the gods realized they could be wanted again. Fraiy gifted to this first occupant some of her abilities. He fled home to spread the news and show off. Soon everyone on the island was clambering for a chance at special powers of their own. After a while the gods realized that their gifts were being abused. Infuriated they gave their brother free rein in claiming those who abused their gifts, thus creating the Meadow Mortum - Forsaken's graveyard. Afterwards the inhabitants lived in fear of using their gifts that they forgot to visit the gods.
Saddened the six gods pooled together an idea. What if they gave out gifts again, but only to those that earned them? The idea seemed to work. One by one their followers returned to them - though the damage of the abuse was still raw on the minds of the mortals - the gods turned a forgiving hand to the Forsaken and gifted their abilities out once more. The occupants of the island are extraordinary, strange, different. They aren't like those of the rest of the world. Their gifts set them apart, their heritage curses them. Their gods had forsaken them.
Balance is tentative here. The chance of once again abusing the grand gifts the Forsaken have been given is still looming over everyone's mind. When the world turns and dawn arises, where will you stand? Will you be faithful, or will you be forsaken?
